Games Workshop UK Games Day was 29th September, and I take this opportunity to thank Darren Harding of Gripping Beast, Paul Cowdrey, John Grant, Tony Garry, Ed McDonald, Andy Dormer, Paul Hicks, Tim Dagnall, Talima Fox, James Meikle and Chris Stone for helping out in advance and on the day.
If I missed anyone out, my apologies and thanks to you as well! Thanks should also go to Games Workshop UK for inviting us to put on 3 games and have static display cases featuring painted miniatures from the collections of Darren Harding, Andy Dormer, Gripping Beast, Foundry, Old Glory, Perry Miniatures and myself. We had a 32ft frontage in total and it all looked pretty impressive, even if I do say so myself! There was a lot of excitement about what WHW did that day, with many people joining in the participation gaming and the event and feedback afterwards was very positive.
Our main table was a Warhammer Ancient Battle Chariot Wars game using Alan and Michael Perry's Egyptian and Hittite armies. The scenery and terrain came from my own collection. (The fortifications are actually based on the walls of Troy from Grand Manner, but we felt they made a suitably impressive backdrop for the occasion) We also had participation games of English Civil War and WAB featuring Roman's verses Barbarians. James Meikle made up the tables and terrain for those and a nice job he made of them too!
