Warhammer Historical
Warhammer Historical Weekend
25th/26th October 2008 - Warhammer World, Games Workshop, Willow Road, Nottingham, NG7 2WS. UK.

Continuing the success of our previous gaming weekends, Warhammer Historical is pleased to announce another event at our Gaming Hall here at Games Workshop.

The event will consist of a number of campaigns which will be period or supplement focused and may feature a mix of doubles and singles rounds, along with some scenarios and larger battles at the end, depending on how the entries balance out.

The aim of these weekends is for all players (new and old) to have fun – they are an opportunity to get together and play games – not to win at any cost.

Our previous events have attracted 100 participants, so please be aware space is limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Details of previous gaming weekends can be found on our Events Page.

Important.
Several of the campaign organisers are prepared to make armies available for use and this may suit overseas attendees- please ask us if you need further information.

The event runs from 9.15 until early evening on the Saturday, and 9.30 until 4pm on the Sunday, with a small presentation ceremony afterwards, so you should be away by 5pm.

Hot food is provided on both Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, and Saturday evening.

Tea or coffee and doughnuts will be available on the Saturday morning for the early arrivals.

After the Saturday evening meal, attendees are welcome to play more games, or just sit around and drink and chat about wargaming in the surroundings of Bugmans Bar, our on site bar which is attached to the Warhammer World event Hall.

Campaign details
All specific campaign information will be placed on the website soon.

Players should note that our website contains amendments and errata and these will be used at this event.

The site will be updated to support some of these campaigns so please check. There are also discussion groups on the WAB Forum (www.wabforum.co.uk).
Should you not have access to our website, please contact us and we can advise accordingly.

Other information
Entry fee including hot lunch on both days and an evening meal in Bugmans Bar on the Saturday will be £40 plus shipping and handling (full terms on the web site).

Coffee and tea is provided on both mornings, along with doughnuts on the Saturday, but arrive early to ensure you get one! Bugmans Bar also has a license for alcohol, so if you need some stronger refreshment during or after a full days gaming, it is available!

All attendees get entered into a draw with a range of prizes at the end of the event, alongside any campaign specific rewards, so even if you lose every game, there is still a chance to go home with something worthwhile!

Companies who have previously provided prizes include Black Library, Gripping Beast, Perry Miniatures, Magister Militum, Figures in Comfort, Curteys Miniatures, 1st Corps, North Star Distribution, Artizan Designs, Empire Models, Great War Miniatures and of course, Warhammer Historical! Our thanks for their generous support.

How to Enter
Online entry is available by clicking on the button below:

To enter by telephone or if you have any specific event and campaign questions please get in touch with Rob Broom, Warhammer Historical Manager.

Telephone 0115 9168213 or email historical@games-workshop.co.uk
(Please put “October 2008 event” in the header so I can spot the emails easily amid all the spam!)

Players who wish to bring along a child who will be playing with them or a non playing partner who would wish to eat with us should contact Rob for details on how to register.

Important!
Once you have entered, please advise us by telephone or email, which campaign you wish to enter with what army, and if you have any special dietary requirements.

This is very important, failure to do so may mean you cannot enter the campaign of your choice or may end up with an incorrect meal. We do not want to disappoint people, so please help us!

Please note if you enter and pay for more than one person, we need the details for all the people in your group regarding campaign and dietary requirements.

Once we have processed your entry we will send out a confirmation ticket (these will start despatching during September) If you enter online, you will receive an order confirmation email with a reference number prior to the ticket.

All campaign information will provided online, with any additional material provided on the day by the campaign organiser. Some of the campaigns have very limited entry, so enter as early as possible to avoid disappointment and if you can, please propose a second choice of campaign so we can accommodate as many people as possible.

It goes without saying (we hope) that all armies should be fully painted.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!

Kind Regards

Rob Broom
